Balancing Design Parameters
2 HSW Credit Hours
This course focuses on how a project’s conceptual design must connect what can be called the Traditional Design Parameters with a project’s Financial & Market analysis. This connection is critical in determining the most appropriate use of the client’s property. During the conceptual phase, as a project’s program is being developed, the Architect must factor in the Financial and Market conditions that will govern the clients “go or no go” decision. Clients will be confident the Architect’s design solution is in their best interest if, during the concept development process, the Architect can balance the Traditional Design Parameters, the Financial Projections, and the Market Conditions. When Architects achieve this balance, the result will be long-term customers with a willingness to increase compensation for the additional services provided.
