The High Performance Workplace
4 HSW Credit Hours
This course employs a case study format to explore the criteria necessary for an office facility to be deemed a High-Performance Workplace. Typically, Architects look at a building’s performance in terms of energy use, space efficiency (best net to gross square footage) and perhaps making sure materials are specified that are easier to maintain. In this case, the client wanted to go beyond these traditional measures and redefine performance. For this client, performance was not just about the building systems operational costs or ongoing maintenance costs, the High-Performance Workplace would be designed to enhance occupant productivity. This course will provide an inside view of how the client expanded the definition of workplace productivity to include the Productivity of the building’s occupants and how this new perspective shaped the design solution
