Rethinking the Concept
2 HSW Credit Hours
This course takes a look at the importance of rethinking the initial concept of a project. The client came to the Architect with a site plan already designed by a civil engineer. He needed the Architect to design three individual units to be used for the site. The project was an 11-acre site located in Carrabelle Florida with a 2-acre pond. After looking at the site, the Architect realized that 50% of the lots did not have a view of the bay. The firm agreed to provide the requested services but also looked at alternative plat layouts to increase customer satisfaction and site profitability. After providing an outline of the Project Scope, the client was convinced that a new plat layout was needed. This course illustrates how rethinking the initial concept of a site can benefit all those involved in the project.
