2 HSW Credit Hours

This course will begin to shed light on the Due Diligence process – how a client makes the decision to proceed with a project and what role the Architect plays. The course will review several aspects of the process including a look at 1) the parameters defined as the facts or circumstances that restrict how the project can be developed, 2) the project concept or idea as shaped by the parameters and controlled by the numbers and 3) the key stakeholders including the clients internal team, consultants, investors, lenders, and regulators. The central question that will be addressed is what are the key elements that clients consider in determining a project’s feasibility. It is reasonable to assume that by providing the Architect with a better understanding of what drives the GO decision and what can be done to better connect Design to Feasibility, the Architect will be more likely to continue to play a key role in the Due Diligence phase.
