This 2 hr. Advanced Florida Building Code Course is required by Architects Registered in Florida.
In accordance with the State of Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation, this two hour course meets the Department’s requirements to complete an Advanced Florida Building Code Module.
The Florida Building course approval number is 1269.0 under Provider # 0004977. This course is also approved by the AIA (Provider # 50119821) for two continuing education hours.
The course will focus on changes in the Building section of the 2023 Florida Building Code (8th Edition ). The course is intended to provide a comparison of the provisions related to the Building section in the 7th Edition (2020) Florida Building Code (FBC) and the 8th Edition (2023) FBC. It is not intended to interpret the provisions contained in either the 7th Edition (2020) or the 8th Edition (2023) FBCB but simply to present the specific changes to be implemented.
The course will focus on what has been identified by Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) as “notable” changes deemed to be the most significant, changes that will have the greatest impact, have been highlighted in yellow and presented using the tables provided by DBPR (for example):
