This 2 hr. Advanced Florida Building Code Course is required by Architects Registered in Florida.

The Florida Building Code (FBC), 5th Edition (2014), was implemented on June 30, 2015. Major & minor changes have been incorporated in all but the Accessibility Code of the 5th Edition. This course provides a history of how the statewide building code became a reality by 1998, & how it has evolved. It also gives an overview of all changes, & highlights the most significant ones in two of the 5th Edition Code volumes (1) FBC, Building; & (2) FBC Energy Conservation (Commercial & Residential). A procedure is suggested allowing professionals to keep informed of future changes. This course is intended for those familiar with the code and desiring to refresh and update their knowledge base of changes.

Anyone involved in the design and delivery of the built environment as well as those who exam construction documents and perform construction inspections can benefit from being current with the regulations governing their profession.

It is presented in accordance with the requirements of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) for the required Advanced Florida Building Code Module.
